Nashville-based artist, Sarah Manzo, is an unstoppable Jersey girl who is determined to leave her mark on music. At 24 years old, she has worked with Grammy-nominated musicians and has performed all over the country.

Growing up in a charismatic family belting out show tunes in the kitchen, Manzo became enamored with musical theater.

With chubby cheeks and a battle with stage fright, she realized she needed to work twice as hard to get from an ensemble member to center stage. She persevered and with hard work, got into a conservatory for musical theater in New York City.

“All I ever wanted to do was perform. I love acting, but I enjoy being myself even more! The things that make us different are really our superpower,” says Manzo on taking the stage with songs that weren’t a persona but personal experiences.

Manzo found a way to heal through songwriting and began making music that she was passionate about, telling stories that were authentic to her about struggles with mental health, growing pains, and feeling like an outcast.

In 2021, 20-year-old Manzo packed up everything and moved to Nashville by herself. Ever since, she’s been knocking on every door and demanding they listen. Building off the momentum of her previous release, “My Ecstasy,” produced by Zachariah Witcher  (Yola, Yebba) and Joshua Blaylock (Moonchild, Marren Morris), Manzo is pours her soul into her album, “Brain on Fire”.

This album is a cross-section of indie, soul, pop, and musical theater. It is meant to confront her past while acting as a sounding board to those around her, “I want to be a big sister to those listening and encourage others to embrace their individuality.” With the vulnerability of Amy Winehouse, the lyrical specificity of Taylor Swift, and the vocal stylings of Ariana Grande, Manzo is ready to share her coming-of-age story with the world.

Combining a dose of ultra polished pop with mesmerizing R&B rhythms, Sarah Manzo and Rossetti’s “The Truth” is a total thing of beauty. From start to finish and every moment in between, there’s a driving serenity that comes through and somehow takes the nostalgic feeling of those 90’s R&B tracks and so delicately fuses it all with the modern.

The funky disco-inspired tune possesses groovy instrumentation flavored with a jazzy neo-soul vibration. Furthermore, “My Ecstasy” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from Sarah Manzo in the near future as she continues to release new music.

As I got older, my passion for performing grew stronger, which led me to get into CAP21 Conservatory in NYC, where I trained in Musical Theatre and acting. A year into the program, I found myself constantly humming melodies in my head. Whether I was walking the streets, riding the subway, or even in the shower, I was coming up with tunes.”
